School Supplies Donated in Iraq Monday, March 01, 2010 An orphanage in Tikrit, Iraq received a large donation of school supplies courtesy of the US Army, and via the Champions Foundation.  We were able to procure, box and ship supplies to a soldier stationed in Iraq who was part of a peace keeping mission that benefitted the local orphanage.  The Champions Foundation believes that partnerships such as these are an ideal way to help others.  None of us on our own could have achieved this result, but together we were able to see a great result.  From the individual donors who purchased pencils, pens, notebooks and crayons, to those who showed up to help box up the supplies, to the financial donors who helped pay the shipping costs, and then to the military personnel who did the actual delivery, this was a mission of a goodwill.  And in the end, the children who needed these supplies the most were the ones who received them.
